The Disaster Artist tells the story of Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero as they make one of the worst regular budget films in history, The Room.
I had seen The Room a few years ago and it was bad, very bad, but that is pretty much common knowledge. When I heard this film was coming out, I was very interested because I wanted to know how such a bad movie came to be made, and honestly after watching it, I still have the same question. Not that the movie doesn’t go through the story of the actual process, but it just doesn’t make sense that it actually got made.
The movie is based on Greg’s book and is supposed to be pretty accurate which is a bit scary. I don’t fault Tommy for making the movie. It was his money and he wanted to make a movie so he did. I am certain I would too if I had money I would never miss to blow on it. I do fault him for having such a crazy ego that he couldn’t listen to anyone.
The Disaster Artist is one of the funniest movies I have seen this year and it is going down on my list of loved movies. Now I need a biopic of the making of Troll 2.
