This movie was quite interesting in the way it depicted the shootout (which was the majority of the movie) in that it a bit more realistic. I love a John Woo film the much as the next guy, but this film tries to show what might really happen if people who weren’t highly skilled soldiers or martial arts masters got into a big fight. I did say a “bit” more realistic though as it did still make light of most of the situation with comedic breaks and had its share of ridiculousness. The characters were intriguing and the action was constant for the most part, though there were a few parts of bad pacing, and it was silly enough to keep in interesting throughout. Based on the description and parts of the trailer I expected something much more fast paced and your normal action flick, but I got something much different and I liked it. I’m not sure if I liked it more, but it was a bit of a refreshing take on the genre.
