Weird, creepy, confusing, and brilliant. This movie has it all. Big Man Japan is a mocumentary of sorts that follows a man with an unknown job. After a bit the audience finds out his job is to go to the power plant and be turned into a giant 50-foot-tall man whose job is to fight ridiculous giant creature enemies. When I say ridiculous I mean it. These are some of the weirdest monsters I have ever seen. I don’t want to spoil any of them by describing, but trust me you will be dumbfounded. You can watch the trailer below if you want some spoilers on the monsters, but i reccomend going in blind. If the guy who designed them wasn’t on acid, they should be committed.
The majority of the movie is good, but the last 10 minutes or so makes the rest of it look normal. I’m serious, the end of the movie is probably the funniest thing I have ever seen. Ever. My family and I had to pause the movie several times in those 10 minutes because we couldn’t see. People were legitimately on the floor laughing. I thought maybe we were weird, but we watched it again when we had someone over and they laughed even harder if that was possible.
This movie is simply brilliant and bananas.
